Printed circuit board is the basic components of electronic products, any electronic products need PCB to be made. Therefore, PCB in electronic products, must be connected with other devices together, and this is called the interconnection of PCB. In general, there are three aspects of PCB connection: the chip to the PCB, the internal part of the PCB, and the external components of the PCB.
1. Interconnection of chip and PCB
The problem of interconnect between the chip and PCB is that the interconnect density is too high, which will lead the basic structure of PCB material to become the factor restricting the interconnect density growth. The solution is to use a local wireless transmitter inside the chip to transmit the data to a nearby printed circuit board.
2. Internal interconnection
Interconnection within the PCB is governed by the following principles: the use of high-performance PCBs, whose insulation constant values are hierarchically controlled in order to manage the electromagnetic field. Avoid using components with leads and using the hole processing process on the sensitive board, because this process will lead to lead inductance at the hole. The choice of non – electroless nickel plating or immersion gold plating technology can provide better skin effect for high frequency current.
3. External connection
External connections are mainly as follows:
(1) Wire bonding
The external connection point on the PCB board can be soldered firmly with the conductor to the components or other parts outside the board without any connector.
(2) Wire welding
This method is often used to connect two printed boards with an angle of 90 degrees between them to form an integral PCB board part.
(3) PCB socket
This type of connection is often used in more complex instruments. The printed plug is made from the edge of the PCB board, and the plug part is designed according to the size of the socket, the distance of the point contact, the location of the hole, etc., so that it matches the special PCB board socket.
(4) Standard pin connection
This method is suitable for small instruments where two printed boards are connected by a standard pin, usually parallel or vertical.
